Warnert Logistics, a leading provider of transportation and logistics services, is seeking an Independent Freight Agent to join our team. As an Independent Freight Agent, you will play a vital role in expanding your business customer base, managing freight operations, and ensuring smooth transportation of goods. Your primary responsibility will be to build relationships with your shippers and carriers, negotiate rates, coordinate shipments, and provide exceptional customer service. This is can be a remote or office based position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing logistics company. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

• Prior experience as an independent freight agent with a proven track record of success.

• Existing customer base and established relationships with shippers and carriers.

• Proven experience as an independent freight agent or in a similar role within the transportation and logistics industry.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with clients.

• Sound knowledge of freight management processes, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Proficient in using transportation management systems and technology platforms.

• Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail.

• Outstanding customer service skills and a client-centric approach.

• Availability to work remotely and manage a flexible schedule.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers to generate new business opportunities and secure freight contracts.

• Actively seek out and prospect potential clients in the transportation industry.

• Negotiate competitive rates and contracts with shippers and carriers to ensure profitability.

• Manage the end-to-end freight process, including coordinating pickup and delivery schedules, arranging transportation modes, and tracking shipments.

  • ( This will be supported through software such as my carrier packets, Mcleod Software TMS, and Macropoint tracking systems)

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and proactively communicating updates to clients.

• Utilize transportation management systems and technology platforms to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to transportation and logistics.

• Collaborate with support staff and management to ensure seamless execution of freight operations.

• Maintain accurate records of transactions, contracts, and customer interactions in the companies software system.
